Take gondola and hike from/to Sunshine Village.
If the weather is poor on the day of the hike, as an alternate for the Citadel pass trail that is exposed all the way: from the Village, take the Standish chair, hike past the Monarch Viewpoint, the Simpson Pass trail to the junction with the final climb up to Healy Pass (see map 4 Optional Simpson Pass to Healy Pass Junction 16.2km estimate elevation gain 100 – 200m, descent 650m) and down to the parking lot. This is a very rewarding hike even in bad weather. The meadows and lakes below the Monarch Ramparts are pretty spectacular.
