From the Sparrowhawk Recreation Area Seasonal Parking, cross the highway (742), go up a hill and follow the trail to the High Rockies Trail (~750m). Take the middle trail (slightly left) toward Sparrowhawk Tarns. After ~600m (1.3 km from the highway) is the junction to Read’s Ridge. Turn left. The trail winds about a bit and steepens considerably below another junction.  Again, keep left, twisting up the fall line and up a shale slope.  Top out onto gentler slopes of heather with views of Spray Lakes Reservoir. Gain grassy Read’s Ridge and follow it above larches, stepping down into Forbes Creek.  As you climb, Sparrowhawk and Read’s Tower come into sight ahead.  Reach the top of the ridge at a levelling with a cairn.

To continue up the Tower, descend a little then follow the trail, climbing scree onto the west slope of the tower. Traverse a bit before turning uphill, so as to take advantage of islands of dryas. Then head up left and follow the left edge to the summit cairn.
