North of Tyrell Museum on Hwy 838 (N Dinosaur Trail). Supposed to be 19th century outlaw hiding place. A few set trails but no signage.

From Badlands Community Centre, follow pathways along Red Deer River, riverside park and return (4km) or continue downstream for 2km and return to Pioneer Trail Centre for coffee, then back to Community Centre for pickup – 8km

From Royal Tyrrell Museum to Badlands Community Centre (80 Veterans Way) or continue SE along Red Deer River and Back to Badlands Community Centre as far as time permits. Negligible elevation change.

Start at parking area and visit the buffalo jump.

Hike in valley

Hike to Elbow Lake and take the trail around the left (west) side. Cross a small bridge over the outlet and continue along the old resource road for about 2.7 km.
