Daffern V4 – 23A
This distance/elevation is based on going down the trail past the end of Spaulding Point, then cutting back up a gully and through the woods to meadows below the point. Best access to Point is following a trail at the base of the left side of cliff into the woods which switches back uphill shortly after entering the wooded area. Return via horse trail that runs across the open hill below the cliff. Can reduce the distance by about 1.5km and 20+ walking time by going out and back by the horse trail, which is accessed by turning off Green Mtn Trail shortly after Dyson Creek Crossing.
B1 time for the 16.5km hike with good trail conditions, including changing to watershoes and back at Dyson Creek in June 2022 (not necessary with lower water later in the season) was 5hrs 10 minutes walking/snack and 15 minute lunch at top of Spaulding Point.
