Rough, rocky trail in parts

Begins a the parking lot at Moraine Lake. The trail stems off from the Rockpile Trail to the left, just before the climb to the top of the rock pile. The hike goes through a very rocky section where there is some avalanche debris and snow piles along the path during the late spring season. The rock field can be a bit tricky as the rocks and boulders can be loose, smooth and very large.

The trail then enters into the forest and continues there for the remainder of the hike on a fairly flat path with some short uphill sections but then very little uphill gain after that. The views are beautiful with the glaciers being visible from the shore.
