Bus Coordinator: Carolyn Ardell ardell5@telusplanet.net  403-660-1825

After discussion with our bus driver Ray all hikes will start and end at WBC.

For now we have replaced the two hikes from Allen Bill Pond with possible alternatives. Please feel free to suggest alternatives: especially if you are willing to lead them, we can finalize the options on the bus tomorrow.

It looks like tomorrow will be a sunny day but please come prepared for up to 15-20 cm of snow on the trails. Your Day Leader is bringing his snowshoes but icers would probably work depending on what trail you select.

Due to snow all hikes must start and end from WBC. The bus will remain at WBC during the day. The biffy Break will be the washrooms at WBC.

Bus Fare $20. Bus will be cancelled if less than 30 registered on Bus. Registration begins the Friday before and ends at 6:00pm on Tuesday before the hike. Cancellations after 6 pm on Tuesday will be NO-SHOWS and will have to pay the Bus Fare.

Here is a map of the trails: https://evergreenoutdoorclub.org/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/Allen-Bill-to-WBC-map-1.pdf

Please contact Eric to volunteer to lead a hike or to request a specific hike in the area. There is a wide variety of hiking possibilities in the area. Please feel free to suggest an alternative hike to Eric.

COVID Protocol

  • All people participating in the outing must be fully vaccinated. Stay home if you are not feeling well or have any COVID like symptoms. If you test positive for Covid after a bus trip, inform the Bus Coordinator who will ensure Club Members and all people on the bus are notified (without giving your name).
  • Masks must be worn when at the under-bus bins, and when on the bus (except briefly when eating a snack or taking a drink). Passengers are to remain in their same seat at all times except for the Day Leader or others conducting Board business. There is no trash disposal bin on the bus. Take home your own trash.

Hiking safely

Bear Spray and hiking poles MUST be stored under the bus, preferably labelled. There is a box for Bear Spray in one of the bins.

If you wish to join the outing, but drive yourself to the trailhead, please register with your choice of activity AND email the bus coordinator to ask them to move you to the ‘Car’ list.

Please ensure you choose an activity option before pressing ‘Register’. Click on the Location below to get more details of the hike and a link to a trail map.

Bus departure time from Montgomery is 8:00 am.
