Bus pick up is at Montgomery Community Centre Parking Lot. Bus departs from Montgomery at 8:00 am sharp.

Skiers:
A/B1 – Ski to Watridge Lake then some of the group may choose to go down to the Spray River Bridge with Eric who will lead. Others can go to Watridge Springs andthen go up to Karst Spring. Lynn and Steve Whittingham will lead that group. Then both groups can return via the myriad trail options provided.
B1/B2 – Ski to Watridge Lake, have lunch along the shoreline, then return by many trails and check out the Bialthalon range. Margaret Duddy will lead. The group may decide to go up to the Karst too.
C – Ski to Watridge Lake, have lunch and return. Mary Luciuk will lead.
Snowshoers/Hikers:
***Lots of snow. If you have snowshoes do bring them as otherwise you may struggle with deep snow even on the travelled trails.***
A/B1 – dropped off on the highway and head up to Rummel Lake, have lunch there and return. If the group is back down early, they may proceed up Commonwealth Creek. Dave Ardell will lead.
B2 – Dropped off at the Marushka trailhead and hike in to the Lake have lunch and return to the trailhead, then head up the road approximately 2 km to where the bus is parked at Mount Shark. This trip is cancelled – nobody signed up. We’ll save it for a summer hike instead.
B2 – Head out to Watridge Lake following beside the ski trail. Then head up to Karst Springs. A karst is a unique upwelling of water right out of the rock. You will follow the resultant creek up to the source. Return to the lake for lunch then return. Ann Nickerson and Kathy Tam will lead.
C – Head to Watridge Lake, have lunch and return. Great 360 vistas all day. John Boyd will lead.
COVID Protocol
- Masks must be worn when at the under-bus bins, and when on the bus (except briefly when eating a snack or taking a drink). Passengers are to remain in their same seat at all times except for the Day Leader or others conducting Board business. There is no trash disposal bin on the bus. Take home your own trash.
Hiking safely
Bear Spray and hiking poles MUST be stored under the bus, preferably labelled. There is a box for Bear Spray in one of the bins.
