Will allow approx. 6 hours hiking time. Bus pick up is at Montgomery Community Centre Parking Lot. Bus departs from Montgomery at 8:00 am sharp. Late Return.
Pick up/Drop off: Lake Louise Ski Hill / Fish Creek Parking Lot; bus stays at the ski area parking lots.
Biffy Break – Lake Louise Ski Hill
Bus Fare $20 plus $10 if you don’t have a National Park Pass. Bus cancelled if less than 30 registered on Bus. Registration begins the Friday before and ends at 6:00pm on Tuesday before the hike. Cancellations after 6 pm on Tuesday will be NO-SHOWS and will have to pay the Bus Fare.
Gondola Tickets ( B2 and C options) $ 42. If you have ski pass from last winter the gondola ride is free. If you had a Louise Plus Card you will receive discount rate of $ 27.50. Bring your pass or Louise Card to receive these benefits. The club will purchase the tickets in advance. You will reimburse the club when you pay your bus fare. The cost of the ticket includes access to the mid mountain Whitehorn Lodge Wildlife Interpretive Centre that the groups can explore after their hike. Please contact Steve before the trip if you have a ski pass or Louise Plus Card as this will impact the fee we pay to the ski area.
Hiking options will be offered for all hiking levels that have a leader and at least 3 other participants. Please contact the Day Leader to volunteer to lead a hike or to request a specific hike on the North Side of the TCH.
COVID Protocol
- All people participating in the outing must be fully vaccinated. Stay home if you are not feeling well or have any COVID like symptoms. If you test positive for Covid after a bus trip, inform the Bus Coordinator who will ensure Club Members and all people on the bus are notified (without giving your name).
- Masks must be worn when at the under-bus bins, and when on the bus (except briefly when eating a snack or taking a drink). Passengers are to remain in their same seat at all times except for the Day Leader or others conducting Board business. There is no trash disposal bin on the bus. Take home your own trash.
Hiking safely
Bear Spray and hiking poles MUST be stored under the bus, preferably labelled. There is a box for Bear Spray in one of the bins.
The area is important for grizzly bears. It is ESSENTIAL that everyone stays together in their hiking group and has their bear spray accessible.
If you wish to join the outing, but drive yourself to the trailhead, please register with your choice of activity AND email the bus coordinator to ask them to move you to the ‘Car’ list.
