Due to the uncertainties of weather and snow conditions, winter trip destinations are often set just a week or two before the outing. They of course are subject to change based on conditions.

Bus pick up is at Montgomery Community Centre Parking Lot.  Bus departs at 8:00 am sharp.

Bus Fare is $25

The bus will be cancelled if there are fewer than 40 registrations. Registration begins on Thursday, Jan 9 at 6pm and ends at 6pm on Tuesday, Jan 14. Those cancelling after registrations closes will be responsible for the Bus Fare.

Please contact the Day Leader to volunteer to lead a option or to request a specific option.

Bear Spray, poles, skis and snowshoes MUST be stored under the bus. There is a box for Bear Spray in one of the bins. It is important that all gear should be labelled with your name.

If you wish to join the outing, but drive yourself to the trailhead, please register with your choice of activity AND email the bus coordinator to ask them to move you to the ‘Car’ list.

Be prepared. It is your responsibility to come with food, water, and appropriate clothing and gear, with allowance for changes in the weather. 

Options:

Skiers: A & B1 – Various loops at Mt Shark, may also go down to Spray River Bridge, for those okay with that big hill; B2/C to Watridge Lake

NOTE: if Mt Shark road is impassable, skiers will go to William Watson Lodge for the day; bus will return to Sawmill.

Snowshoers / Walkers: 

A – James Walker Lake and return via Snowdrift and Graupel

B1 – Snowdrift/Graupel loop

B1/B2 – James Walker Lake

B2 – Snowdrift trail afatp

C – Sawmill Loop
