Due to the uncertainties of weather and snow conditions, winter trip destinations are often set just a week or two before the outing. They of course are subject to change based on conditions.

If you wish to join the outing, but choose to drive yourself to the trailhead, please register with your choice of activity AND email the bus coordinator to ask them to move you to the ‘Car’ list.

Please choose an activity option before pressing ‘Register’. Click on the Location below to get more details of the hike and a link to a trail map.

Be prepared. It is your responsibility to come with food, water, and appropriate clothing and gear, with allowance for changes in the weather.

Options:

Skiers: Tram Lines and Moraine Lake Road are good. The trails along the Bow River are track set and very good. Pipestone has a bit of track setting done but doesn’t look very good just yet. Maybe it will improve by Thursday.

What is posted are suggestions, but other variations can be arranged while on the bus. Talk it up with your ski buddies. The website listing below is too lengthy to start adding in others throughout the week, but we can be flexible on the bus and at the trailhead.

Snowshoers: Many of the favourites are ready for you. What’s new is the option to go over to the Pipestone area.

Walkers: A treat this week is the Banff drop off. You will have almost 7 hours to head over to the Cave and Basin, or up Tunnel Mountain, or over to the Hoodoos or do last minute Christmas shopping, go out for coffee or lunch or to a pub. Fun time for all!
