10:15 AM – Meet at the Montgomery Community Centre
10:30 AM – Join a variety of walks (approx. 2.5 hours hiking time):
1. A/B1 – Sam will lead a vigorous walk through Bowmont Park and returning through Bowness.
2. B2/C – Anne Lyon will lead a walk west, across the Hextall Bridge into Bowness. She lives in the area and will give you a good oldtown walk.
3. A/B1/B2/C – Peter Dankers and Greg will lead history walks through Edworthy Park. This is a repeat of the history walk of last year, supplemented by some new stories. Peter will lead half the group and Greg will lead the other half. You’ll again hear about Thomas and Mary Edworthy and family. This includes facts about their ranch, farming and market garden. Also learn about their sandstone quarries that provided the building blocks for many a building in early Calgary and beyond. New this year will be learning about William Tregellis and his nearby brickworks. Peter and Greg have lots of material to tell of in upcoming hikes. Hiking poles and icers are recommended as we will go off road in a few places.
4. A/B/C – Only attend the AGM and not hike that day.

12:45 PM – Volunteers set up chairs and head table
1:15 PM – Community Centre opens, sign-in begins and coffee/tea/juice and light snacks are served
1:30 PM – AGM begins
Note: This is a BYO lunch. People who arrive before the Community Centre doors open may wish to take advantage of the benches and picnic tables that surround the Centre. You can also eat your own bag lunch while participating in the AGM. Light snacks will be provided. Please bring indoor shoes/slippers as we need to remove our footwear at the door, before entering the Gym.
3:30 PM – AGM adjourns – everyone helps put away chairs and tables, sweep the floor etc.
Biffy Break – If it’s open, we’ll use the Arena beside the parking lot. There are other biffies along the way through Edworthy Park.
