Due to the uncertainties of weather and snow conditions, winter trip destinations are often set just a week or two before the outing. They of course are subject to change based on conditions.

Skiers Options and Notes:

As we are all aware snow has been scarce so far this winter. Currently only the south end of the park has some snow but even these trails are not suitable for beginner and intermediate skiers. We are further limited by the fact that the bus can not drop people off or park in the Elk Pass Parking lot. Skiing from the upper Lake to the Elk Pass trailhead is dubious at best.

If conditions change before the trip there may be a chance for some skiing, but this is very uncertain.

Snowshoer and Walkers Options: Likely snowshoes will not be needed but to be safe you should bring them and leave them at Wm. Watson or hang them on your pack.

Please note that winter trips are subject to change as necessary.
