Bus pickup is at Montgomery Community Centre Parking Lot. Bus departs from Montgomery at 8:00 am sharp. 2nd pickup and dropoff at Sheep River Library – 9am. If you plan to meet us in Turner Valley, please let the Bus Coordinator and Day Leader know.
Biffy Break – Sheep River Library, Turner Valley
Hikes start from Sheep River Park Office parking; bus will stay there. People walking to Black Diamond get off the bus at Turner Valley library; will include time for coffee shop stop and/or other browsing.
Bus Fare $20. Bus cancelled if less than 30 registered on Bus. Registration begins the Friday before and ends at 6:00pm on Tuesday before the hike. Cancellations after 6 pm on Tuesday will be NO-SHOWS and will have to pay the Bus Fare.
Expect lots of snow. Bring your snowshoes and/or microspikes and gaiters.
Hiking/Snowshoeing options are offered for all levels. Please contact Day Leader to volunteer to lead a hike or to request a specific hike in the area.
COVID Protocol
- All people participating in the outing must be fully vaccinated. Stay home if you are not feeling well or have any COVID like symptoms. If you test positive for Covid after a bus trip, inform the Bus Coordinator who will ensure Club Members and all people on the bus are notified (without giving your name).
- Masks must be worn when at the under-bus bins, and when on the bus (except briefly when eating a snack or taking a drink). Passengers are to remain in their same seat at all times except for the Day Leader or others conducting Board business. There is no trash disposal bin on the bus. Take home your own trash.
Hiking safely
Bear Spray and hiking poles MUST be stored under the bus, preferably labelled. There is a box for Bear Spray in one of the bins.
If you wish to join the outing, but drive yourself to the trailhead, please register with your choice of activity AND email the bus coordinator to ask them to move you to the ‘Car’ list.
