Due to the uncertainties of weather and snow conditions, winter trip destinations are often set just a week or two before the outing. They of course are subject to change based on conditions.

Bus pick up is at Montgomery Community Centre Parking Lot.  Bus departs at 8:00 am sharp.

Bus Fare is $25.

The bus will be cancelled if there are fewer than 40 registrations. Registration begins at 6pm on Thursday, Mar 13th and ends at 6pm on Tuesday, Mar 18th. Cancellations after 6pm on Tuesday will have remain responsible for the Bus Fare.

Please contact the Day Leader to volunteer to lead a option or to request a specific option.

Bear Spray, poles, skies and snowshoes MUST be stored under the bus. There is a box for Bear Spray in one of the bins. It is important that all gear should be labelled with your name.

If you wish to join the outing, but drive yourself to the trailhead, please register with your choice of activity AND email the bus coordinator to ask them to move you to the ‘Car’ list.

Be prepared. It is your responsibility to come with food, water, and appropriate clothing and gear, with allowance for changes in the weather. 

Options:

Skiers: PLPP (Peter Lougheed Provincial Park) is a favourite!

A/B1 – Ski Upper Lake, Fox Creek and Elk Pass. Then down Tyrwitt and Pocaterra to Lynx to either WWL (22 km) or the Discovery Centre via Lodgepole (25km). The distance from WWL to the Discovery Centre is about 3 km.

B1/B2 – Ski Upper Lake Connector, Fox Creek and onto Morraine, and either Wheeler or Amos back to WLL for lunch. After lunch, some may want to ski down to the Discovery Centre using Lodgepole or Braille (it’s only about 40 minutes  from WLL to the Discovery Centre).

B2/C – Ski the trails near WLL. Go out on Spruce and over to Wheeler and back on Wheeler or take Amos and into WWL for lunch. After lunch you can go out on the same trails or try Braille of Lodgepole.
