Cost: $25 payable on the bus trip home
Class size limited to a maximum of 10
Beginner lesson covers equipment review, motion on skis: falling and raising, star turns, diagonal stride, double poling. It also will help you handle hills: straight running down hill, step turns, snow plough, side stepping, herringbone uphills, The goal is to get you on your way to fun skiing on easy terrain.
In the afternoon we will set you up with a club member to help you practice new skills while becoming comfortable moving on skis and learning a few of the trails. No prior experience necessary!
You need to bring skis boots and poles. Either waxless or waxable skis are fine. Rental is available from the University of Calgary Outdoor Centre for $17 or from any ski shop.
Most ski shops offer packages at similar prices. Go wherever convenient.
